Szavanna’s top 10

Szavanna October 22nd, 2008

What about a celebration :)
The occasion is Beautiful Africa’s 10′th edition which is coming  up soon. We started more then a year ago with Ishtar ( founding member :) and Loomnie and it’s been fun.

The following is a YouTube playlist I put together for this occasion - and it is in no way the top 10  -  since I don’t think this is a competition - and would probably end up with an infinite number of songs if I had more time. There is rai, reggae, blues, jazz, tuku music, makosa and much more. I did try to choose songs that reflect the rainbow quality of this continent - I think this list also fits the carnival description that Ishtar put together back in the beginnings of this project:

This is a carnival for all of those who have experienced Africa and have been touched or inspired by this so called “dark continent” in any way. You may or may not have been there yourself, it can be about someone else, a story that inspired you etc. The aim of this carnival is to bring forth all the dignity, beauty, variety and human warmth of this huge continent, which is so often neglected in international media today.

Thanks to all those that have participated so far with their posts - the carnival plans to carry on hopefully many years - so keep writing - so that the BA team won’t run out of posts :)
