"Like a flowing river" has many short chapters, "A thousand suns" has few but longer chapters (10 or 11, I forgot) and it is a very good book. The author describes his travel experiences around the world - he met a bull tamer from Spain, a person accused of terrorism, toured Soviet Union at the height of cold war etc. Also, try out "Travels" (http://www.amazon.com/Travels-Michael-Crichton/dp/0060509058/ref=pd_bbs_sr_5/102-8670794-9630508?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1192323285&sr=8-5)by Michael crichton. That is also an amazing book. I don't know if Michael has written any other non-fiction, but I wish he did.
