I just got the latest drawing from Nyama.

We started working together a few years ago when Nyama decided to join our art project which she found through a Google search. She is a young artist from Zambia – a musician, poet and painter.

We have been in touch for a few years now – she normally contacts me once or twice a month sending me her latest painting, drawing or a new song. We nomally upload her new work on her art site and discuss a few issues, questions she has. It has been working very well – I am happy she finds ways to keep in touch no matter how difficult it might get.

We have been working with a few artists from different countries:

• Netanya (South Africa)
• Peter and his group Ngoma Vuma Africa (Kenya-South Africa)
• Nyama (Zambia)
• Makh (Uganda)
• Abimbola (Nigeria)
• Eostar (USA)

The idea with this art project is very simply to be a support desk for those artists that are interested in using the Internet to get their message out.

We helped them …

• compile and publish a book on Lulu.com,
• created art sites and taught them how to maintain their own sites,
• taught them computer skills,
• help them set up their music profile on MySpace.com
• or helped register and set up their domain name
• and much much more …

… in other words we are there for them no matter what the question might be and they can choose to do the same for others as well once they have the skills.

Taking part in this project is free and we are looking for more artists to take part.
