The boss himself, Big Manu… Manu Dibango. His unique style introduced me into the Jazz world and i guess many others. Soul Makossa is his “cavallo di battaglia” but his PL is so full of hits. Many renowned musicians grew up in his band, guys like Richard Bona, Lokua Kanza just to name a few… He has colaborated with bigs like Lady Smith Black Mambazo, Fela Kuti, Herbie Hancock.
Hi Kanute – yes it’s great music – I have known Soul Makossa for quite a while but I don’t really have other material from him.
